According to GKIDS and Fathom Events, they will screen Miyazaki's film, Spirited Away in the United States theaters on December 4 to December 5. This is to commemorate Spirited Away's 15th anniversary of its release. The film will be screened with English-dub on December 4 while on December 5, the movie will have English-subtitles. An exclusive short film coming from Studio Ghibli titled "Ghiblies: Episode 2" is also scheduled to premiere after the featured film. This 25-minute short features the everyday work inside the famous animation studio depicted as vignettes and caricatures. This has never been released in North America and will have its debut during this event.

Spirited Away is a tale that involves the ten-year-old Chihiro, who enters a mysterious spirit world. When her parents whisked away, it is up to her to rescue them and find the exit back to their own world. Along the way, she met a mysterious boy named Haku who helped her adjust to her situation in the spirit world. Spirited Away was released in 2001 and was coined as the most successful film in Japanese history. It is the only Japanese film that won an Oscar Academy Award for the category of Best Animated Feature Film. The film still holds the highest-grossing film record in Japan.

Ghiblies; Episode 2 first made its way to theaters in 2002. It appeared alongside another of Studio Ghibli's famous film, The Cat Returns. Yoshiyuki Momose helped direct the short while Nishimura Masahiko and Kaoru Kobayashi starred in it.
