"Moonlight" is still on its general release right now and it seems that the movie is making waves all over the world. A drama film which is written and directed by Barry Jenkins depicts a story of what is happening in society now. It is a film capable of gaining Academy Awards by 2017.

In a report from Niagara Gazette, "Moonlight" is a story that reveals much of the psychological and emotional aspects of a person. The film follows the story of Chiron (Ashton Sanders) from a young to being a teenager and all the way to being an adult.

Chiron is also being addressed as Black or Little in "Moonlight." He has been bullied as a child who led him to be aloof and lonely. He lives with his mother who is addicted to drugs and in time he gets to be under the care of a drug dealer who feeds him and takes care of him.

In high school, Chiron is in a confusing state over his identity and finds himself attracted to the same sex. "Moonlight" shows of him being a homosexual and eventually falls for Kevin (Jaden Piner) who himself is a bisexual.

Meanwhile, a report in Awards Daily talks about "Moonlight" as shared by Director Barry Jenkins. Jenkins shares in the report that he found the play a few years ago and found much of him on it. He also wanted to cast those unfamiliar actors for the film. Most of the actors in the film are unknown except for Mahershala Ali who already appeared in 'House of Cards,' 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' and 'Kicks.'

HollywoodChicago.com also reports about the film. Here, Jenkins also shares about the story and so does Tarell McCraney. The latter is the one who wrote the story originally. McCraney shares that the story of Moonlight originated in his college days. He was just grieving of the passing of his mother and guilty since he was not there. He wrote a story grief and based it on his own life.

"Moonlight" is still out and can be viewed in theaters worldwide.
