Prince Harry Attends Rugby Match with a Princess Instead of Girlfriend Meghan Markle
Just when we thought we could finally take a peek of Prince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle, we were wrong. There were no signs of the American Suit star at the game between England and South Africa at the Twickenham Stadium in London Saturday, which everyone thought would be the couple's first public appearance.
The British Prince came to the venue alone but later during the game; he was spotted with the glamorous Princess of Monaco, Charlene. The Prince was in attendance at the game as his role as the Vice Patron of the Rugby Football Union. He was later seen congratulating the athletes after their 37-21 win.
As expected, fans were disappointed but there were rumors that Meghan Markle isn't even in the country. She is said to be at Toronto at the moment. Before this, Meghan has been staying with Prince Harry at his home in London. Meghan is also expected to finally meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this weekend, who are currently staying at the Kensington Palace together with their children.
The day before the match, Meghan was spotted shopping at the Kensington High Street in London. Her visit came a few days after Harry admitted his love for her. The prince also made a public plea asking to respect Meghan's privacy and claimed that "line had been crossed" in some media coverage. There were even racial attacks directed towards Meghan, commenting about her mixed race. In a statement, it was said that Harry is "worried about Ms. Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her" and concluded 'he knows commentators will say this is 'the price she has to pay' and that 'this is all part of the game'. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game... it is her life and his."
