'Vampire Diaries' Episode 4 Season 8 Recap: Seline Turns Out To Be The Devil; Matt Donovan Returns
Writers for TV Show "The Vampire Diaries" were given credits for successfully stunning fans in the fourth episode, season 8 of the fantasy supernatural show as it effectively depicted Georgie as the villain, when it was actually Seline. Episode 4 was explosive and answered a lot of questions.
Episode 4 opened with a scene as early as 750 B.C.E., and focused on two girls at an early age, one of whom told the other about a certain Arcadius, a man possessed with some psychic powers and who was stoned, then burned alive by people. The scene went back to the present time where Caroline was shown heading back from Bonnie while Stefan woke up. It seemed that Ric and Stefan were planning to spend some time with Sybil on that day.
During their conversation, Sybil told Ric and Stefan about the tale of a young lad who dwelt at a Mediterranean community until the time people in the village discovered that she had some psychic powers and because of that, she was put into an exile on an island by her people. The problem is, the lad was not alone on her exile on the island. There was another lad who also displayed psychic powers and this was a girl who will do anything for her sister.
At first, it seemed that the other sister is Georgie. Sybil continued to tell the story that when the two girls were hungry, they would call upon the ships, which would then crash against the rocks, allowing them to eat on the ship's provisions. The village lad did not know that when they called out on the ships, it would mean death upon the ship's crew.
Sybil then used the story and asked Stefan, "Which girl are you?" There was no answer, so Sybil continued with her tale, revealing that there were never provisions on the ships. They were actually gorging on the sailors themselves, but this was concealed by the other girl who wanted the villager to follow on the former's lifestyle.
Then Georgie appeared and knocked Stefan out, enabling Sybil to get inside Stefan's head and told Stefan the continuation of the story. Sybil was the villager who strived to be good, and the other girl who insisted Sybil to follow her lifestyle, is actually Seline. When Stefan woke up, Sybil repeated the question to which Stefan answered, "I'm both."
Sybil told Stefan the rest of the story. When the villager knew about the sailors, she jumped from the cliff just when Arcadius appeared. Seline made a deal with him. The two girls would be immortal, beautiful and forever youthful. But they have to feed on human flesh to maintain these traits. The souls would then be gathered by Arcadius.
As events turned, it was also revealed that Georgie works for Seline. Elsewhere, Matt Donovan returns.
