‘Skate 3’ Is Available On Xbox One Through Backward Compatibility, What About ‘Skate 4’?

The 2010 game "Skate 3", lands in Xbox One through backward compatibility program. The commercially and critically praised game developed by EA Black Box was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Now, considering the popularity of the game, Xbox, and the developer made it available on Xbox One. While the developer found to be working with backward compatibility of Skate 3, there are no confirmed details available about the development of next franchise "Skate 4".

Interestingly, Xbox turns one year with its backward compatibility program and it celebrated with the entry of Skate 3. Additionally, Xbox is adding Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 also Xbox One library and EA Access Vault. It was in last November, Xbox started its backward compatibility program to facilitate gamers to use to Xbox 360 games in Xbox One.


The backward compatibility program is designed to ensure the interoperability of the older formats or systems in new ones. In the case of video games, it makes a successful transition to the next generation consoles. Many of the games that were released on PlayStation 2 is made operable on PlayStation 3, but Sony is not found to be interested in making PS3 games operable in PS4.

Even when Skate 3 is made available in Xbox One, there is no information about the development of Skate 4. Due to the increased success of Skate 3, its fans usually request in EA official pages to make a Skate 4. Considering the online petition filed by fans, it is reported that EA is planning to start the development of the game. Though there is no official information available, it is reported that EA is strangled with the developments of other game installments.

The increased success of Skate 3 can be more elaborated with the backward compatibility. Similarly PlayStation can think to bring the game to PS4 and PS4 Pro as it can be a good news for the crazy fans. Interestingly, they made an online petition to White house months back to force EA to develop a Skate 4.
