“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 has been going pretty strong for the show. Even though a last season for it, writers, producers and cast have tried to make it the best experience for the viewers, but there could be some problems on the rise.
Nina Dobrev, who plays the character of Elena Gilbert on the successful “The Vampire Diaries” series, may not join the crew for the last season. Hall of Fame magazine shares that the star of the series has supposedly canceled her arrangements to appear in the last season, the reasons for it are still unknown.
It is possible, that Nina Dobrev’s developing career may be in the way of her reunion.
She has scored three roles in big blockbuster movies – “xXx : Return of Xander Cage”, “Flatliners” and “Crash Pad”. On the other hand, she has managed to arrange herself a guest-star role in Comedy Central’s “Workaholics” Season 7.
Digital Spy shares information on the series creator Julie Plec. According to her, a series finale without Dobrev would be devastating to the series. The story began with her and even though her character is in a suspended state, it would have been good for her to join the crew one last time.
For now, there are two endings prepared and which one of them will be filmed depends only on Dorbrev’s desire to appear among the cast. Julie also shared, that even though they did not manage to reach the 10th anniversary milestone, for them this conclusion of the series is satisfactory enough, since actors, writer and she herself are feeling drained from the series and prefer to end them on the high side.
Headline and Global News shares and possible plans for the main cast of “The Vampire Diaries”. According to them, Nina Dobrev has already managed to score two minor roles in Hollywood productions during the last years, these are Wallflower" (2012) and "Let's Be Cops" (2014).
Paul Wesley will be focusing on his movie career too, as he is now part of the cast of a sci-fi movie named “Convergence”, which is expected to be released in the year of 2017. Ian Somerhalder has directed a few of “The Vampire Diaries” episodes, which brings hope that fans will see his productions on both film and behind the camera.
