Ray Allen is now stepping down from the NBA for good, as he announced his retirement using an open letter. The 41-year NBA veteran will be retiring holding the NBA record of the top player with most 3-point field goal in the NBA history.

An open letter was posted on the Player's Tribune, citing that Ray Allen is talking to his younger self. Allen told his younger self that he is writing is now at peace with himself.

A dramatic open letter can be seen as Ray Allen stated that he is now ready to set apart from his basketball career. Allen played in the NBA with 4 different teams in his 18 straight years as a pro basketball player.

Ray Allen was drafted 5th by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1996 NBA draft before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks the same night. Allen showcased his talent as he led the Bucks for 7 straight years before playing with the old Seattle Super Sonics.

Allen earned his 1st NBA championship title when he played with his 3rd team, the Boston Celtics along with his long time friend Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Earning his 2nd title was the time when he played alongside with the Miami Heat Big 3, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh where he hit the game-winning 3-points in the 2014 NBA finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

One of the league's greatest 3-point shooter, Ray Allen is a total threat that every opposing team wants to cover up. Allen is a total unfazed shooter that leaves everyone a nightmare to defend.

Meanwhile, the ESPN reported that the Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge is unsure to hang Allen's no. 20 jersey. It's obvious that the Boston Celtics was wounded when Ray Allen rejected the $12 million offer back in 2012.
