'Alola!' from Red and Blue in Pokemon Sun & Moon
Pokemon Sun & Moon is just right around the corner and Nintendo released a new trailer, showing off some more new Pokemon. But what caught the fans off-guard was that Nintendo decided to bring over the original champions, Red and Blue (Green) into the Alola Region!
Red and Blue co-starred their respective game titles, Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue and in Pokemon Yellow back in 1996. The two of them are rivals from the original games, battling against each other on the road until they've settled the score in the Pokemon League. Following the events from the first game, Red has been around since, appearing in the remakes as the protagonist and in other Pokemon games, where he challenges the player to a battle. Blue, on the other hand, took on the responsibility of being the Viridian City Gym leader in Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal, as well as their remakes, when its original gym leader went AWOL.
Fans are very much thrilled to see the two primary trainers of the series and brought nostalgia to fans who have been playing the games since 1996. Both Red and Blue are all grown-up and donning outfits fit for the tropical islands.
Pokemon Sun & Moon players would encounter the two trainers from the Kanto region late in the game, challenging them to a battle. The video shows the duo's iconic Pokemon being sent out to battle such as Alakazam for Blue and Pikachu for Red.
It also shows the different guardians of the Alola region, Alola versions of some of the Pokemon from the Kanto region like Persian and the Alola starters' final evolution: Decidueye, Incineroar and Primarina. You can watch the video below.
Pokemon Sun & Moon will be available in North America on November 18, 2016 and in Europe on November 23, 2016.
