When Google started a chat app that can be registered with just a phone number and named it as "Google Allo", many of the analysts wondered. It is not associated with Google accounts and appeared to be independent of Google. Google Allo also introduced a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant named Google Assistant in it against Google Now. Knowing further about Google Assistant and other features of Google Allo can help the subscribers to effectively use it.

The most important aspect about Google Assistant used in Google Allo is, it is in the chat format. However, users can also use voice search option instead of typing. It works quite similar to Google Now voice search.

The accuracy of voice search in Google Assistant in deciphering words found to comparatively less with Google Now. Since people can type and get the information, people who don't have a clear voice or pronunciation issues may find this more useful, reports CNET.

It is also important to learn that only preview version of Google Assistant is activated in Google Allo. It reported that Google wants to move from Google Now to next generation AI assistant system and that is called Google Assistant.

Also, the firm wants to popularize Google Allo and it has collaborated with Netflix to facilitate downloading "Stranger Things" sticker pack to its customers, cited by Engadget. It also has hosted a "Stranger Things Scavenger" hunt on Oct. 28 in New York.

The additional features added in Google Allo are the split-screen option in Android N and functionality to directly reply to notifications in iOS and Android. Also, users can create shortcuts to show the contacts in Google Allo, reported by Tech Crunch.

It can be assumed that Google wants an excellent app to take on WhatsApp. Since the Google Hangout is associated with Google accounts, it couldn't make a better job, as people worried about privacy. Considering the fact that WhatsApp is changing their privacy policy, people might shift from the platform and Google Allo may use this opportunity. It is expected that once Android Nougat released on eligible smartphones, the application will become more popular, considering the specific features it offers.
