Mariah Carey and James Packer Split - Affair Rumors and More!

Ten months after their engagement, pop superstar Mariah Carey, and billionaire casino mogul James Packer called it quits after a fallout in Greece. According to the singer's camp, Carey and Packer had an argument while in Greece. And the couple has not been seen together ever since.

The reason behind the arguments is rumored to be Carey's "extravagant spending" and an affair. Although the pop superstar's camp denied any rumors about Carey having an affair or spending some serious cash, "The fight was not because of cheating allegations or excess spending by Mariah. James is one of the most successful businessmen in the world."

Mariah's camp also confirmed that the couple was trying to reconcile their differences. According to the statement, "They are trying to work it out but right now they are not sure if they will stay together. They are discussing it and plan to release a statement about their future."

A source close to the pair also shut down all the rumors of Mariah having an affair with one of her dancers, Brian Tanaka, amid problems with her fiance. The source tells E! News that Packer's behavior played a role in Mariah's decision to split.

"James is not in a mentally healthy place right now, and he has not been present for her," the insider said. "Unfortunately, his absence and behavior were not a good situation for her, so she had to leave him."

However, a rep for Packer stated that this news is "Simply untrue." In an Australian magazine Woman's Day, a 'close family friend' spoke about the couple on Thursday saying "It's all over. James had huge reservations about Mariah's new reality TV show and the fact that she was willing to expose their lives to the world."

It was understood that Packer, 49, have walked away from the singer as she prepares to expose each and every part of her glittering life on her new reality TV show. The show titled "Mariah's World," is set to air on the E! Cable TV network starting early December.

Based on the promotional materials, the show will follow the star on her Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour around Europe and Africa, while she plans her upcoming wedding. On the other hand, Packer had been reluctant to be involved in the series altogether.

James Packer, son of the late media mogul Kerry Packer, and Mariah were believed to have first met at a film premiere in Aspen Colorado in 2014. The couple had dated for around a couple of years prior before he popped the question in January where he gave her a 35 carat diamond engagement ring worth $10 million.

The pop superstar had recently canceled quite some tour dates, including scheduled shows in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

A statement from the superstar said: "To all of my lambs in South America, I am devastated that a portion of this tour had to be canceled.

"Thank you for all of the excitement and love-I hope to see you soon, my darlings!
