Both were known to have an overwhelming experience in the show business and have established their careers over the years.
Netflix has naturally did not reveal any hints about the nature of their roles. Their characters are still open to debate.
Patricia Clarkson has her fair share of successes in both big-screen and small-screen entertainment. Furthermore, her role in the 2003's "Pieces Of April" brought her an Academy award nomination too. Apart from that, she had prominent roles in series such as "Murder One" and "Six Feet Under."
Campbell Scott, on the other hand, earned his experience from TV and movie exploits. He starred in a mainstream movie such as "Amazing Spider-Man" to playing in a hit series "Royal Pains."
However, their characters have not been officially identified except that it is going to be something major, according to GameNGuide. Fans speculated that these new character might work for or against the interest of Frank Underwood.
In further development on the "House of Cards" Season 5, Frank Pugliese and Melissa James Gibson, both senior writers, have been promoted as show runners of Netflix's political drama. The original creator and showrunner of the series, Beau Willimon, have not been included in the renewal for the fifth season.
Other casts that were rumored to join "House of Cards" Season 5 are Neve Campbell and Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad). GamenGuide previously reported that Mahershala Ali will not be a part of "House of Cards" Season 5 because of his new television series "Luke Cage."
