More Trouble for Samsung as Another Unit, Not Galaxy Note 7, Exploded!

Is Samsung set for more trouble after another unit, not Galaxy Note 7, has exploded? An owner of a Samsung Galaxy Note7 who turned it in for a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge reports that her replacement phone exploded while charging.

One of the employees of a wireless carrier in the US said that she exchanged her Galaxy Note 7 after news circulated that there is a recall. She got herself a new Samsung Galaxy S7. But after only a couple of weeks, the replacement phone had exploded.

This is not the first time that S7 Edge was reported to have exploded. A construction worker in Ohio sued Samsung after the phone exploded in his pants. Another case said that the victim's phone suddenly exploded in the middle of the night while being charged. All of these cases said that the phone burst into flame while charging with their original chargers.

A Canadian citizen, Elisha Loewen, also cited another case of Samsung explosion. She reported that her S7 Edge suddenly exploded while he was driving. "Then I noticed smoke coming from my console under my radio where I keep my phone. I picked it up and it was extremely hot, then threw it out the car window. I pulled over and covered it in the snow to snuff the flame," Loewen said.

Both Samsung units Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were launched to the market this year. Both resemble great similarity with the Galaxy Note, although the two uses fingerprint input while the Galaxy Note 7 needs a stylus to function.

Samsung has been under fire these past few months after they released their Galaxy Note 7 in August, which received several complaints of overheating and exploding. The company later announced a recall, replacing the units with newer versions that were "safe". Samsung has yet to comment on the recent Galaxy S7 Edge explosion.
