One was killed and at least three others were hurt after a scaffolding in Hollywood collapsed. Hollywood's Fire Chief reports that a mural painter fell to his death while two others dangled 40 feet above the ground in their safety harnesses.

The fire rescue crews immediately responded to Hyde Resorts and Residence, a luxury 41 story condominium in Hollywood. The incident happened last Monday at 1:30 p.m. while the victims were busy painting the mural on the building. The mural is part of the work of Douglas Hoekzema but it uncertain whether or not he was on the scene at the time of the incident.

One of the crews was immediately pronounced dead, while two people were rushed to a hospital, with one of them in critical condition. Another person was safely brought to the ground and was treated for minor injuries right at the scene.

Antwan Green, a worker and a witness to the incident, said "We heard a lot of commotion, someone was in distress on the south side of the building," She added, "We saw two guys dangling and one had already fell to his death."

The condominium is a project of John Moriarty and Associates. This isn't the first time however that the firm was involved in a tragic incident. Just last Tuesday, broken scaffolding fell from the 60 story Echo Condominiums in Brickell. This caused one man to die from a heart attack while fearfully escaping the falling debris.

Right now, the Hollywood Fire Inspectors together with the Hollywood Police are working together to investigate who should be held responsible for the said mishap. On the other hand, folks from Occupational Safety and Health Administration had arrived at the scene to do their own investigations. The rest of the workers on the site were sent home.
