'Vikings' Season 5 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: History Channel Confirms New Season; Everything That We Need To Know!

"Vikings" Season 5 is officially renewed by the History Channel. It seems that Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) comes back to Kattegat and will have his son's trust him back after several years of them not having a father.

Premiere Date reports that from "Vikings" Season 4 episode 10's cliffhanger Ragnar has been lost for all these years. Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) has fought and has been severely wounded. The battle also has affected Ragnar's sons.

Ragnar will be back to Kattegat in "Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11 after he lost the battle. He has challenges about his being king and is still looking for the answers as to what their fate may be. He comes back to bring back the trust from his sons whom he left behind.

The first half of "Vikings" Season 4 already ended with 10 episodes. The show is set to air the fourth season's second half with four episodes more to go. With a month before episode11 starts, the show has been renewed for a fifth season.

It has been reported by News Everyday that a new character is hinted to join the series in "Vikings" Season 5. The new character Astrid is said to have an important part in Lagertha's life in the upcoming season. Josefin Asplund is rumored to be the one to play the role of Astrid.

"Vikings" Season 4 Episode 11 will have Lagertha and Queen Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) fight over the throne according to a previous report by News Everyday. Lagertha is likely to win in this battle and Queen Aslaug will fight more since she claims that she is the rightful owner of the throne since she is the former wife of Ragnar.

Meanwhile, the new character Astrid has been introduced in "Vikings" during 'The Silk Roads: A New History to the World.' Season 4 is set to return for the 11th season on November 30, 2016. Season 5 which is already confirmed is set to air in 2017.
