Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom Divorce News & Update: Divorce Settlement Sparks Controversy
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's marriage seems almost officially over. The 32-year-old TV personality and the 36-year-old former basketball player have reportedly signed off on their divorce settlement and are just waiting for a judge to sign off on the paperwork, according to TMZ.
Back in 2013, Kardashian first filed for divorce before dismissing the divorce petition in October 2015 after Lamar overdosed and was in the hospital recovering. Khloe's lawyer Laura Wasser went before a judge to petition to have the case dismissed and the request was granted, as noted by the same post.
Then earlier this year in May, Khloe refiled for divorce. A prenup has been in place and a property settlement was worked out the first time Khloe filed for divorce, so the couple just has to wait the mandatory six month period until the divorce is finalized, according to Just Jared Jr.
Khloe met Lamar in 2009 at a party thrown by his then-teammate Ron Artest. They got married after a month-long courtship. They are reportedly on good terms and he was informed that she was going to be filing the papers again on Thursday (May 26). Under California law, Kardashian has to wait six months from the time of filing to get a sign off from the judge, which will expectedly happen in December.
Apparently, Khloe moved on as she is currently dating Tristan Thompson, 25. They were first spotted at a Beverly Hills mansion on Sept. 2, The two have "been secretly dating for a while," a source tells In Touch magazine.
Kardashian launched her Good American denim line on Tuesday, October 18, at The Grove in L.A. She has designed a collection of jeans with women of every shape and size in mind. Despite the criticism over lack of affordability, many fans seem to respect Khloé for delving into the plus-size denim industry.
