New York Giants: Six Players Fined in Game Against the Rams
Six players on the New York Giants will be fined after Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, sources reported. Although the NFL will not announce the fines until this Friday, several of the players have disclosed how much they will be docked.
Defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins received the highest fine at $16,000. Jenkins drove into Rams' quarterback Shaun Hill in the fourth quarter after Hill threw an incomplete pass.
Wide receiver Preston Parker and defensive end Damontre Moore were each fined $15,000 for their involvement in a brawl during the second-quarter with Rams defensive end, Williams Hayes. The players got into a fight after Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was roughly pushed to the ground by Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree. Parker, Moore and Hayes were all ejected after the brawl.
Beckham was fined $10,000 for kicking Ogletree, who was on the ground after the play. Ogletree, who was penalized for the late hit, stated that he has not heard from the league on whether or not he will be fined. Meanwhile, placekicker Josh Brown was fined $8,200 for making a kicking motion while he was on top of a pile following a kickoff return. Brown, who stated that he wants to appeal the fine, was flagged for unnecessary roughness.
The last Giant on the list is long snapper, Zak DeOssie. He was fined $8,200 for a late hit that occurred out of bounds on a punt return. He also received a flag for unnecessary roughness.
