Meth Mom Just Watched Drugged Daughter Being Raped And Murdered
A memorial of flowers, teddy bears, candles, butterflies and balloons had been set up outside an apartment in memory of a little girl. Victoria Martens, who had just started fourth grade at an Albuquerque elementary school and celebrated her birthday, was brutally murdered.
According to DailyMail, police entered an apartment complex in Albuquerque about 4:30 a.m. as they thought they were responding to a battery call. Instead, they found 10-year-old Victoria Martens. After the police had arrived, a woman, later identified as Victoria’s mother, told them that “someone killed her daughter” and was still inside the second-floor apartment. When the officers tried to get inside the apartment, Jessica Kelley slammed the door shut and locked it with a chain. She then jumped from the apartment’s balcony, but was later arrested.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by CNN, the child was found with no pulse, her left leg was almost completely cut off and both arms were missing. She was partially wrapped in a burning blanket, inside a bath tub and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the girl had been drugged with methamphetamine, sexually assaulted and stabbed. They also found bloodstains on the carpet of the girl’s bedroom. Three people arrested in the case include her own mother.
Albuquerque Police identified the suspects as Victoria's mother, Michelle Martens, her mother's boyfriend, Fabian Gonzales and Gonzales' cousin, Jessica Kelley. The three were confirmed to be high on drugs, specifically Methamphetamine, upon commission of the crime. It was even reporter that Michelle Martens had sex with Gonzales 20 minutes after Victoria was murdered.
Washing Post reported that upon arrest, Martens initially claimed that she and Gonzales, 31, had been attacked by Kelley, a convicted rapist. However, interview transcripts for more than 100 pages obtained by the station before Martens, 35, admit that she sat back and watched as her daughter was assaulted and killed at around 5:00 p.m. on August 23. Martens then admitted that she would watched the pair rape Victoria on at least three other occasions in the days before she was killed. She told cops she enjoyed watching her daughter be violated, and had let two other men have sex with her in the six months before the murder.
The three are facing several charges, including child abuse resulting in death, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and conspiracy are being held on $1 million bond. Gonzales also is charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor.
