Pagent Brewster has been confirmed to be returning to the family Criminal Minds, with indications that it's good to be back!

Ahead of the premiere of Season 12 of "Criminal Minds," the actress took some time to grace Entertainment Today with an interview, discussing her thoughts on her character Emily Prentiss. As is known from the show's canon, Prentiss had been away, running Interpol for about 4 years and only recently came back full-time to her beloved team as will be shown in Season 12. Pagent praised how the development of her character had been handled, how her character was made good at what she does and powerful to boot. "Invested," Pagent put it.

The 47-year-old actress had given similar thoughts in a TV Guide interview previously, regarding how Prentiss had been portrayed Seasons 2 to 6. Emily also made a couple of guest appearances in Season 9 and 11 that hinted at her possible return.

Pagent noted that there were few shows she enjoyed as often as "Criminal Minds." She explained that she had left at the right time, for the right reasons but she had never stopped being friends with and loving the people at the show.

"It's such a great group there," According to Paget Brewster in an article from United Press International, "It's a true family. There are not families without problems, and people fight, but it's because we all care a lot about the show," she added.

You could certainly feel the love and excitement Pagent held for the show. In her own words, she said that she loved the show, loved the fans, and loved all her fellow cast members and crew, going on to add that it was the best circumstance she had ever had the pleasure to be in. Fans are certainly happy to see that Emily will be returning back to the halls of her old Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU) ready to get back in business and help out with investigations.

Originally, Pagent had been designed to act as a guest star for six Season 12 episodes on the CBS show but was then promoted to a series regular as Erica Messer, executive producer, explained. "Because she's a fan favorite and we all love and miss her so much here," she told to ET.

You can catch Brewster on Wednesday, the debut of Season 12, alongside co-stars Kirsten Vangsness, A.J. Cook, and Matthew Grey Gubler, on CBS. The show airs every Wednesdays at 9 p.m ET.
