Avatar' and 'Korra' To Receive Comic Book Treatment
Missed Aang and Korra? Fret not, as both "Avatar: The Legend of Aang" and "The Legend of Korra" will be receiving comic book treatment, courtesy of Dark Horse Comics.
Announced during the height of New York Comic Con, two creative teams will be taking on the comic book continuations of the said series, in a bid to bring distinct rendition to each one of them.
The team of Gene Yang and artist duo Gurihiru will be taking on "Avatar: The Last Airbender." Set to bridge the gap between the conclusion of the cartoon and the start of "The Legend of Korra," the new comic book series will depict in detail an internal strife within the Southern Water Tribe. The audience were then teased to an image that harkens back to the show's first season: A visual of a frozen Fire Nation warship.
On the other hand, the new "The Legend of Korra" series will be handled by Mike DiMartino and Irene Koh. Serving as an official sequel to the cartoon, the story will focus on the adventures of Korra and Asami's stay in the Spirit World. It will also deal with the fallout of the Spirit World portal that appeared right up in Republic City.
Aside from the new "Korra" series, DiMartino is also working on a new book, titled "Rebel Genius." Set in an Italy-inspired fantasy world called Zizzola, it is a mesh of magic and kung-fu rolled with topics ranging from genocide, war, and cultural differences.
No release dates were given yet for the aforementioned two, new comic book series.
