PS4 to Finally Get Mod Support for Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4
There is a light at the end of the tunnel for PS4 players. Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4 will finally (finally!) get mod support for PS4.
Bethesda announced in a recent blog post that mod support for PS4 will be coming on October 28 this year, reports SlashGear. "We and Sony have worked hard to make this possible," says Bethesda.
"We are excited finally to get modding to our PlayStation fans who have supported us for so long ... Modding has been an important part of our games for over 10 years, and we hope to do even more in the coming year for all our players, regardless of platform."
This cancels out the statement they made earlier in September, where they said that Sony wouldn't "approve user mods the way they should work ... for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition."
IBTimes reports that PS4 mod support will first come out for the remastered Skyrim Special Edition when it's released on October 28. It will allow players to create customized content with Bethesda's Creation Kit. According to Bethesda, once they're finished with Skyrim, mod support and PS4 Pro support will come to Fallout 4 too.
According to Express, players will not be able to upload external assets with the PS4 Mods, however they'll be able to use any assets what already come with the game. Players will be able to browse and ty mods within the game after creating a Bethesda.net account.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition will have all the content from the original game. This includes the Dawnguard expansion and quest, the Hearthfire home improvements DLC, and the Dragonborn add-on. However, there will be no further new DLC for the game, and players will not be able to transfer their saves from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, or PS3 to PS4.
