Samsung Gear S3 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier launched
Samsung, the South Korean tech giant launched its new smartwatch Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier at Berlin IFA 2016.
Samsung launched its smartwatch well before Apple released its product. The company added some good features and sim slot which made the smart watch independent from the nearby smart phones for features to operate. With this release of smartwatch from Samsung, Apple and other companies have clear competition to come up with new additional features better than the ones existing in the market.
According to Indian Express, Gear S3 has some iterative updates on its predecessor Gear S2. The design and over all looks of the watch along with rotating bezel makes it the most attractive product at IFA 2016. Samsung has launched two versions in Gear S3, Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier. The Classic version has a more minimalist design and the Frontier version has sports look. The new design has 33mm circular screen and 12.9mm thick making it very light and sporty on hand. These smartwatches are made IP68 water resistant, built-in speakers, LTE connectivity, Global Positioning System (GPS) and a feature to take care of mobile payments.
Gear S3 Classic and Frontier comes with the specifications as - 1.3-inch Circular Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels (278ppi), Corning Gorilla Glass SR, 4GB Internal storage, Tizen wearable platform 2.3.2 is the platform on which the watch runs, 768MB RAM, Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC (Near Field Communication), MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) and GPS. The rotating circular bezel allows user to control the watch. Samsung claims that the battery will last long for four days on a single charge as it is powered by 380mAh battery with wireless charging support.
Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Wearable Business, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics in a press statement said "Samsung Gear S2 achieved meaningful progress in the smartwatch category with a personalized watch face and a versatile rotating bezel that provided an intuitive smartwatch experience. Now with the new Gear S3, we expand our Gear collection and introduce not only a great smartwatch, but a great watch. With smart capabilities and sophisticated, elegant design, the Gear S3 marks a significant addition to our smartwatch portfolio," as per Indian Express.
