‘American Horror Story’ Season 6, News Update: The Buzz is Becoming Better
The buzz about FX's 'American Horror Story' has gained pace and with each passing day, some or other news or update keeps drifting in.
But, not much has been officially announced about the sixth installment. Fans have no idea about the subtitle of the upcoming season as the producers are yet to release one. But one can take solace from the fact that the show follows the formula of releasing tantalizing teasers in summer months. So, it is only a matter of time when the teaser comes out in the open.
As for the cast, veteran actors like Sarah Paulson, Denis O'Hare and Evan Peters have been confirmed but others such as Frances Conroy, Finn Wittrock, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Gabourey Sidibe are yet to be finalized.
Last season's debutant and popular singer Lady Gaga has also given her assent to be a part of the sixth season but her professional commitments do not allow her to work on as big a scale as she did previously. So, it is very likely that her role would be smaller.
As for rumors about Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper joining the sixth series, there is no positive sign or suggestion. Of course, he has worked with creator Ryan Murphy for his medical drama Nip/Tuck in the past, he has not given any indication that he is joining the horror series.
Jessica Lange, the most popular and critically acclaimed actress of the series, is also following Cooper's way. The only difference is that she has confirmed her departure. The 67-year-old actress has clearly stated that she would not be returning to the series and her last is over. Now this is quite saddening but fans would be happy to know that she is collaborating with Murphy for upcoming FX drama- Feud.
Talking about the plot, producers are maintaining high level of secrecy and only little tidbits have emerged. FX President John Landgraf has said that the season would span across two timelines and have references to the past but it would be very different from the last season 'Hotel.'
