Starz channel's hit time-travel series 'Outlander' season 2 comes back with a new episode laden with intense emotions as Claire grapples with a dilemma whether to plead before King Louis of France to spare Jamie's life at her own expense.

In a network-produced promo video, there a couple of emotional scenes that make the Episode 7: Faith heartbreaking. The teaser shows Claire telling Mother Hildegard her doubts over her husband Jamie's betrayal in a momentary delirium.

In a spoiler update by Christian Post, Claire and Jamie previously reached an agreement on allowing Black Jack Randall live for another year. Their intention was let their enemy Randall marry Mary Hawkins and ensure that Frank Randall, Claire's first husband, continues to exist.

However, a stubborn Jamie broke her wishes and got on a fight with Black Jack and injured the latter during the duel. Soldiers arrived and subsequently arrested Jamie as dueling was outlawed across France. A pregnant Claire witnessed the whole fight and was bleeding, leaving her unborn child's fate hanging in the balance.

The 'Faith' episode picks up at L'Hopital des Anges where doctors are trying their best to save Claire and her baby. King Louis of France is also seen presiding over a case involving two men, 'one an enemy, one a friend,' who were reportedly engaged in the dark arts as per Starz's official teaser. At this point, Claire gathers enough courage to face the king and begs for Jamie's life after his unfortunate duel with Black Jack Randall.

Of course, there is no such thing as free lunch. Making a plea for the King's presence comes at a certain price. King Louis does give Claire an audience as he listens to her plea, BitBag reported. He agrees to grant her husband the pardon she seeks in exchange for judging the case over two men practicing dark arts in his behalf- Comte St Germain and Master Raymond. Claire declares Comte St Germain's linkage with Les Disciples du Mal. Then she receives the King's royal pardon for Jamie for the service with one caveat though: Claire sleeps with King Louis.

Meanwhile, if the time-travel series remains faithful to the book series second title 'Dragonfly in Amber', from which it draws its inspiration, then Claire and Jamie would lose their unborn baby whose name 'Faith' happens to be the title of the episode as well.
