'Suicide Squad' News & Update: Jared Leto’s Joker May get a Spin-off Film About Joker’s Origin
According to recent reports, an insider source revealed that Warner Bros. has half a mind to give a spin-off solo movie to Jared Leto as the Joker. The source also said that Leto is, of course, up for it. In fact, the fans are also interested in watching a Joker film and his tryst with crime. But the question is, what could the movie be about?
The most obvious explanation to the spinoff will be to follow Joker's story and his origin into the world of crime, borrowing some aspects from novel, "Batman: The Killing Joke." In the comic book, it is revealed how a struggling comedian turned to a life of crime after he was thrown into a casket of chemicals, eventually giving birth to a Clown Prince of Crime.
Even though it seems exciting to see "Batman: The Killing Joke" to be finally adapted into big-screen, but the comic-book is already getting an animated treatment, featuring Mark Hamill as the Joker's voice. So what could Joker spin-off film be about?
In recent news, it was confirmed that the Robin suit in "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" is for Jason Todd, second Robin. Following which, a fan theory emerged that Joker (Jared Leto) in "Suicide Squad," is actually Jason Todd. However, the theory will remain a mystery until the movie hits the theaters on August 5.
