According to previous reports, "Sherlock Holmes 3" might began filming this Fall. "We're talking about it right now. Now. I can't wait. ... We can do some preliminary stuff. ... I know Guy Ritchie loves me as much as I love him - and he damn well should," lead star Robert Downey Jr. said.

Since the Robert Downey Jr. will be occupied with the next "Avengers" film, the "Sherlock Holmes" producer, Joel Silver, confirms that the filming will have to begin this year. "It looks like it could happen this fall. Downey said he wants to do it. He's gotta launch into another 'Avengers' movie right after the new year. So we're trying to get it done," Silver said.

Meanwhile, there is another exciting news for the Sherlock Holmes fans. If you enjoy the detective's adventures, you will be happy to know that there will be more sequels to the "Sherlock Holmes" series in the coming years. There is also a possibility for the film series to go beyond "Sherlock Holmes 3," teases Silver.

"I don't think so. How many Bond films have they made? As long as there's a character, we can work with it. It's not an end story," Silver said when asked if "Sherlock Holmes 3" will be the detective's final appearance on the big screens.

Even Robert Downey Jr seems interested in the prospect of doing more Sherlock films if there will be another one after the third installment. While he is looking forward to another "Iron Man," the actor also acknowledges that he is not getting any younger, but will continue to reprise his Sherlock character as long as it demands.
