The Last of Us 2 Release News and Rumors: Sequel May Feature a Pregnant Ellie
Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4 has been a stunning success. Now, the game studio is reportedly churning out a highly anticipated sequel to its exhilarating dystopia-themed game 'The Last of Us.' The frenzy over the rumored installment has been set off by an Easter egg poster with the title 'Last of Us: American Daughters' found on the Uncharted 4 game suggesting the next iteration to the original title.
In a May 19 tweet, developers teased fans of an Ellie-centric plot in the upcoming title which only heightened the excitement by anxious fans eagerly waiting for the game's arrival.
The original title of the much beloved dystopian PlayStation game is believed to be a huge commercial success after it was rolled out in 2013 with all the storytelling and wonderful display of emotions coupled with interesting character development per Movie News Guide.
As of now, Naughty Dog still refuses to confirm or deny, at least publicly, the existence of a forthcoming installment probably as a marketing strategy to keep its market in a constant state of anticipation. But the game studio is quite savvy enough to drop hints and Easter egg clues to generate interest.
Gamers are still perplexed over the first title's unresolved plotlines. There are still a number of questions that left unanswered. With the Easter egg poster showing a pregnant woman wearing a gas mask while a sporting a revolver pistol in her left hand. It's quite hard to discern what her face actually looks like but it is safe to assume that the character in the poster could either be a pregnant Ellie or her mother according to Game N Guide analysis. Following this logic, the plot of the next title could be either be a prequel or a sequel to the first.
Meanwhile, the Last of Us 2 game will be officially announced at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June as per Day Herald report based on the media outfit's insider sources. Also, recent leaks also confirmed the existence of the next title at PAX East with details indicating the game will be available on PS4 in 2018 including a PS4 V4 support. If rumors prove accurate, Ellie and Joel may no longer be key characters in the upcoming sequel.
