WWE Rumors: Paul Heyman Talks about How Sabu Revolutionized Wrestling

WWE has just published an article about the legacy of Sabu, the ECW champion who changed pro wrestling forever with his crazy stunts, daredevil antics, and all sorts of insane performances that only a non-human creature would possibly attempt. To keep him off the path to oblivion, a number of current and ex-WWE stars like Paul Heyman talked about how he revolutionized pro wrestling.

For the uninitiated, Sabu, who also fought under WWE and TNA promotions, laid the foundations for countless other wrestlers who inherited his extreme form of pro wrestling. As an innovator, however, the maverick failed to get the credit he deserves.

"Whether Sabu gets the credit in history he deserves, the answer is no. But who do you blame for that? Do you blame the curator of the industry, WWE, for not acknowledging the contributions that Sabu made?" said Heyman as quoted in the WWE-published article.

"Do you blame the audience who only sings the praises of Sabu crashing through tables, and not all the many other ways Sabu was so unique at his height?"

Sabu's revolutionary approach to wrestling started out in one of pro wrestling's peripheral circuits in the early 1990's. His maniacal, sadistic, and frenetic presence and movement in the ring was pretty much unconventional in early wrestling days. Despite his immense contribution, WWE champion John Cena thinks he still remains one of the most underrated pro wrestlers in the industry.

"I think he's underrated because I think his best work was before he got with us. In the height of The Attitude Era, he established quite a reputation for himself in ECW. It would've been fun to see what he would've done over here," Cena said as quoted by Wrestle Zone.

Meanwhile, ECW legend has finally spoken about what he thinks about the idea of getting inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame.

"No, I care nothing about the WWE Hall of Fame, but I would like to be inducted in to the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame...It's just a money maker for WWE, it's not an honor to wrestlers. It's to make a pay day for the company," the former ECW daredevil said as quoted by Wrestling Inc.
