WWE Rumors: Raymond Leppan Arrested For Domestic Violence Charges
Raymond Leppan, professionally known as Adam Rose in the wrestling world, was taken into custody after being charged with domestic violence and witness tampering after trying to stop his wife from contacting 911 to report the incident.
The 36-year-old WWE star was reportedly arguing with his spouse at home when he pulled her toward him as he screamed. When he let go of his battered wife, she immediately reached for the phone to contact law enforcement but he grabbed the phone to stop her from calling the cops in. When the police came, Leppan admitted to pulling the phone away from her.
The pro wrestler was subsequently arrested and detained at Orient Road Jail for misdemeanor battery and felony without bail, TMZ reported. Following the news of his arrest, WWE issued a statement concerning the issue and placed him under indefinite suspension.
"WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Raymond Leppan has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest," WWE's official statement said as quoted by Tampa Bay News.
His arrest comes at such an unfortunate timing. Leppan is still reeling from WWE's 60-day suspension for violating the company's health and wellness policy on substance abuse issued last April.
"My family and I are still collecting ourselves from this blow. I have zero anger or animosity against the WWE. But feel the administrators over the WWE Wellness policy were just simply not right in taking this action. I feel facts are the facts and my family and I will be the ones putting our lives back together after this mess," Leppan said adding that he'd been taking medications to handle his ADHD, Fox Sports reported.
As per WWE policy, Leppan will be released following a guilty verdict but could be reinstated if the charges against are dropped or if he gets acquitted. However, a stipulation in the contract could put Leppan's wrestling career to an end. The company still retains a discretionary power to reprimand and punish talents if irrefutable proofs of their illegal misconduct is presented to the management.
