WWE News and Rumors: McMahon Vs. The Authority Feud May Happen This Summer

Shane McMahon persistently invokes his presence to prove that he is now the force behind WWE Raw even though he was badly defeated by The Undertaker recently at WrestleMania 32.

Despite a well-documented enmity between Shane and Vince McMahon, the elder McMahon appeared to have changed the power balance by handing over to his son the control of Raw, a move that could upset the power couple's bid to re-assert their claims to the show as per latest reports.

While the WWE Universe is left wondering how the entire storyline will end up, rumors are currently swirling with WWE's recent teasing over a possible confrontation between Shane-O-Mac and The Authority.

"Shane McMahon continued his hot streak across the pond in London, running his third consecutive Raw thanks to the unbelievable support of the WWE Universe. However, Monday night's hottest show now ventures to Hartford, Conn., mere minutes from The Authority's offices in WWE Headquarters," a message posted on WWE's official website as quoted by Vavel.

The teasing message noted further saying, "We haven't seen Triple H and Stephanie McMahon on Raw since WrestleMania, nor have we gotten their thoughts on Shane-O-Mac's job performance. Will The Authority arrive to put an end to Shane's new era, or will they actually deem him "best for business" at the helm of Raw?"

Although there seems to be an overwhelming fan-based support for Shane-O-Mac's bid to hold on to his newfound power, he lacks the legitimacy that would effectively consolidate his control of Raw away from the resident power couple's reach. The problem for the Authority is that both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are one of the most hated figures in WWE.

As the powerplay heats up, reports indicate for a possible match between the Prodigal Son and the King of Kings again over the control of Raw.

Is The Authority ever coming back?

Some reports indicate that WWE is bound to take a break from their mainstay storyline. Although fortunes may have been reversed in favor of Shane-O-Mac, returning the Authority angle into the story will surely make an interesting twist.

"If Shane McMahon ends up sticking around a while longer and staying on TV, this could lead to the rumored return of the brand split. WWE's roster is getting bigger all the time, and it's with solid, true talent that could, and should, be the focal points of just about any wrestling company in the world," wrote Danny Cox for the Inquisitr.

According to WhatCulture, the highly speculated family feud is due to begin in early May with Shane McMahon facing Triple H as the main SummerSlam event in an epic showdown that would decide, once and for all, who gets to gain permanent control of Raw.
