Rumor mills are currently in full swing again as postseason NBA trade speculations fly across the league. While familiar names have dominated the sports media for quite some time, it is now Sacramento Kings' Darren Collison's turn to be in the spotlight.

If reports prove accurate, the point guard will be involved in a number of prospective trade talks in the offseason with New York Knicks particularly keen on getting him on their roster.

"Coming off a 32-50 season, the New York Knicks need to make serious changes to their roster to compete in the NBA's Eastern Conference next season. These struggles in New York revolve around the team's need for a respectable point guard, as the production from that position in the last season was putrid," wrote Nicholas Sciria of the Inquistr. "Unsurprisingly, one name that has already popped up in trade rumors is Darren Collison of the Sacramento Kings."

As per updates by Bleacher Report, the Knicks management seems to think Collison as the last puzzle piece to their rebuilding efforts. The 28-year-old promising basketball star has a remarkable 2015-16 record to speak of. With Rajon Rondo, Collison managed to score 14 points and 14.3 assists in a span of 30 minutes per game- a robust performance that solidified his growing hardcourt reputation.

On top of the abovementioned stats, Collison is also known for being a lethal shooter from any court position. His offensive gameplay includes taking accurate mid-range jump shots while opening up scoring opportunities for his teammates.

Furthermore, Collison's quite spectacular offensive ability makes him an important add-on to Knicks' pivot to Triangle Offense- the strategic gameplay which made Knicks' president of basketball operations Phil Jackson a legendary in his coaching years.

"Collison's combination of quickness in the halfcourt and speed in the open court is second to none. He sees the floor well as a facilitator, is a quality shooter from beyond the arc, and plays at a respectable level defensively," observed Maxwell Ogden of Fansided.

Should New York Knicks decide to pursue such plan, Collison's addition to the team's roster is relatively affordable. As per Movie News Guide roundup, Collison is reportedly only $5,229,454 in 2016-17- a reasonable alternative in the free agency season.
