NBA Trade Rumors: 5 Players who could be Traded Starting Dec. 15

When December 15 comes, several NBA players could be packing their bags for a new city and team. On that date, all players who were acquired during the summer become eligible for trades. Although no one knows for sure how these trades will turn out, here are five players who are expected to be traded:

1. Jeremy Lin, Los Angeles Lakers

Jeremy Lin, who has played for the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets, has had a poor season so far. He recently lost his starting position as point guard to Ronnie Price. Lin was also quoted stated that he is in "one of the toughest situations" of his career. Although Lin's numbers have been down, his $14.8 million expiring contract makes him a good trade candidate. However, the Lakers will most likely only trade Lin if they got a good enough deal in return.

2. Greg Monroe, Detroit Pistons

Center Greg Monroe signed a one-year, $5.4 million qualifying offer with the Detroit Pistons. Monroe, who will become an unrestricted free agent in 2015, is not expected to stay with the Pistons. A trade involving the 6-foot-11 player could be very likely.

3. Lance Stephenson, Charlotte Hornets

The latest trade rumors have surrounded Charlotte Hornets' Lance Stephenson, whose offense has not picked up this season. Stephenson is shooting 38.9 percent with a less than 16 shooting percentage from the three-point line. However, Stephenson's defense is still there, averaging 7.4 rebounds per game. Stephenson has two years left in his contract worth more than $18 millions. His final year is a team option.

4. Corey Brewer, Minnesota Timberwolves

According to rumors, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Houston Rockets are interested in acquiring Corey Brewer. Brewer, 28, is projected to make $4.9 million next season before becoming a free agent.

5. Amar'e Stoudemire, New York Knicks

The New York Knicks desperately need to change their season around, starting 4-20, and one way to do that is to trade Amar's Stoudemire. Stoudemire's performance on the court over the past few seasons has been hampered by his injuries. This season so far, he has averaged 13.3 points with 7.5 rebounds in 25.8 minutes. Despite improving stats, the Knicks have been trying to trade him. Stoudemire is the highest paid player on the team. He will make $23.4 million in his final year.
