Saban's Power Rangers' official logo was revealed by Lionsgate and Saban Brands at the recently-concluded CinemaCon 2016 in Las Vegas, Behind the Thrills reports.

The new logo, which features an embossed metallic finish and a very prominent update on the franchise' signature thunderbolt icon, is now blazoned prominently across the film's social media platforms but is best showcased on its official website.

The stylized logo gives off the kind of gritty tone that complements film director Dean Israelite's description in a recent Comic Book interview about the new Power Rangers costumes as "really modern, edgy, badass, aspirational quality"

At the same event, Lionsgate and Saban Brands also released the film's synopsis that shows little departure from the original 1993 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' created by Haim:

"Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove - and the world - is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat.  Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late."

The third feature film spun from the Saban, Saban's Power Rangers is speculated to be "mature, but still playful", where the original TV show's catchy theme song "Go Go Power Rangers" will still belong.

As reported by PR Newswire, production on the film began in February 29, 2016 in Vancouver.

Saban's Power Rangers, set for an early 2017 release, features fairly little-known actors to play the costumed superhero team. Dacre Montgomery will be Jason the Red Ranger; RJ Cyler as Billy the Blue Ranger; Naomi Scott as Kimberly the Pink Ranger; Becky G as Trini the Yellow Ranger; and Ludi Lin as Zack the Black Ranger. Actress and director Elizabeth Banks, as alien villain Rita Repulsa, leads the cast.
