WWE News and Rumors: Adam Rose and Konnor Suspended Due To Wellness Policy Violations
Thirty-six-year-old professional wrestling stars Raymond Leppan (Adam Rose) and Ryan Parmeter (Konnor) were handed down a punitive 60-day suspension by WWE after tests yielded positive results for use of substance banned under the organization's wellness policy.
The banned illegal substances were not identified as per company's rules on disclosure. However, latest roundups from the wrestling rumor mills suggest that the substances might have included performance enhancers and other meds that require strict medical prescriptions by doctors.
"In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Raymond Leppan (Adam Rose) and Ryan Parmeter (Konnor) each for 60 days effective immediately for a second violation of the company's policy," the official statement from WWE reads.
The wrestlers have not yet issued a comment following the suspension. As reported by Hollywood Life, the recent corrective action by WWE management marks the second time that former two-time FCW Florida Heavyweight Champion Adam and Konnor have been suspended for the same violation of WWE's Talent and Wellness Program. Two years ago, Adam was barred from the matches for a month. Likewise, Konnor's failed drug test also cost him a 30-day suspension.
According to WWE policy, all wrestlers in its roster are required to undergo drug testing carried out an external organization for at least four times a year. When a wrestler is tested positive for the first time, he will be given an initial suspension for 30 days with 12 times of drug tests every year.
"WWE has a three strike system. The first strike is a 30 day suspension without pay. The second strike is a 60 day suspension without pay. The third strike is termination of WWE Talent's contract. The policy states that a WWE Talent who tests positive and receives a strike is subject to follow up testing," the policy states as reported by Fox Sport.
The recent suspension of some of the promotion's wrestlers comes at such a bad timing when the organization experiences a 'shortage' of crowd-getting superstars due to several cases of injuries. Among the high-paid stars in its injury lineup includes John Cena, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Bray Watt.
