Actor Brandon Jones Accused Of Felony Assault For Pointing A Gun At A Neighbour
Last month, Brandon Jones got charged with felony assault when he pointed a gun at his neighbour.
The actor is known for his work on the ABC Family-turned-Feeform show, "Pretty Little Liars", in which he played Andrew Campbell. He was featured on season three but did not appear in the following show.
He was first arrested and imprisoned on March 24 and then needed to submit a $50,000 bond the following day in order to secure his release.
He got arrested during an exchange in which he showed a knife and later took out a handgun at a neighbour even while going through another quarrel in North Hill, Calif. It is not too clear whether the same neighbor was part of both the separate disputes or how the quarrels began.
Apart from the assault charge, the 27-year-old actor was faced with a misdemeanor count for showing a deadly weapon. He had also reportedly revealed a firearm while having another encounter with a neighbour in October 2015.
Jones might face more than five years in the state prison if he is found guilty. But he reportedly did not fire his weapon or knife his neighbour.
On Thursday, Jones pleaded not guilty to the charges and had to pay a bond of $75,000, not $50,000. It is not clear whether he is still in prison or not, and whether he has paid the new bond of $75,000.
"It is our understanding that the gun in Mr. Jones' possession was fully legal and registered, that he was on his girlfriend's private property and that he and his girlfriend felt that they were under threat in a dispute with neighbors," Jones' rep said on Thursday.
Jones has no earlier criminal record.
