'Game Of Thrones' News: President Obama Will See An Early Screening Of Season 6
If all of you are wondering what happened to Jon Snow in the "Game of Thrones", then ask the President of the United States. He will know about it before the whole world, said showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
During its world premiere event in Hollywood, Calif., last weekend, the two confirmed that President Obama had requested to be shown the first episode from the much awaited sixth season of the hit HBO show.
In an interview for HBO's livestream of the premiere, both of them confirmed that they did undergo "Aha, we've totally made it" moments since they started working on the series.
"I think, for both of us, finding out the president wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an aha moment," Weiss said. "That was a very strange moment."
And did they oblige him?
"Yes," Weiss said. "He's the leader of the free world."
"When the commander in chief says, 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?" Benioff added.
So Obama is among the first, apart from those who work on it, who will be shown the new footage from Season 6, as HBO refuses to send advanced screenings to the media for the first time since the show began.
Earlier, the first four episodes were leaked to the public before the premiere show. But for the first time, the "Game of Thrones" series has outpaced its source material, based on George R.R. Martin's book series "A Song of Fire and Ice."
Earlier, the President said that "Game of Thrones" was his favourite TV show. He was reported to have asked director David Nutter about Jon Snow, who got murdered by his brothers at the Night's Watch in the Finale of Season 5.
"Three weeks ago, I was the in the company of the President of the United States," the director said. "He turned to me, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, 'You didn't kill Jon Snow did you?'"
"I said, 'Jon Snow is deader than dead,'" the director recalls. "I thought I was going to be sent to Guantanamo or something, but fortunately I'm here---but he's dead."
