Brooklyn Nets Trade Rumors: Andrei Kirilenko could be Headed to the 76ers
Trade talks surrounding Brooklyn Nets small forward, Andre Kirilenko, have started up once again. According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets are reportedly in the process of finalizing a deal that would send Kirilenko to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Kirilenko is currently in the final year of his $3.3 million contract, which would be waived in Philadelphia. Sources are reporting that the Nets will also give the 76ers a second-round pick in the deal.
If the deal is completed, the Nets would also avoid paying a fine for having Kirilenko's salary listed. The Nets could pay up to $90.57 million in luxury taxes to the NBA for spending over the salary cap for the 2013-14 season.
Kirilenko, 33, is a 12-year veteran who has averaged 11.8 points in 30 minutes per game is his career. In this season so far, Kirilenko, who has been dealing with personal issues, has only played 5.1 minutes per game with no points in seven games. These family complications have prevented Kirilenko from traveling with the team and could continue to keep his traveling limited until early next year.
No word yet on who the Nets will take in this trade.
