'The Young and the Restless' News Update and Spoilers: Is Victor Newman Going to Die?

The long running soap opera of CBS, "The Young and the Restless" might witness the death of its iconic character Victor Newman.

If rumors are to be believed, the death of the character will be dramatic as it will be shrouded in mystery, leaving enough scope for a comeback. This comes in the wake of an interview that lead actors Eric Braeden and Peter Bergman did some time back. It indicated towards the death of a character in the coming weeks.

As of now, Newman is in prison and the way things are going on inside the jail, it gives audience enough fodder to think that the death is related to him. The warden appears to be quite suspicious and Newman is being targeted as well.

According to reports, Newman will be leaving jail in a different manner. He may fake his death to plan an escape and keep himself safe. It will also give him enough chances to get back to his family who put him behind the bars.

Another report suggests that Newman will talk to Ian about the jailbreak but it will land him in the infirmary. Here, he will meet Dr. Meredith Gates who might prove instrumental in his escape.

This seems very plausible because the previous episodes have shown Adam getting frightened and calling everybody to voice out his concerns about his father's safety. It looks like the stage is set for the escape and it is only a matter of time when we see it happening. So, rest assured there will be plenty of action and drama in the coming times as the soap opera progresses forward.

Notably, Victor Newman is a very old and strong character of the show who was introduced in the 1980s with the makers planning to keep his role short. However, his acting impressed co-creator William J Bell and his role was developed further to grow into a leading character.
