Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Release Date, News and Rumors: Leaks of the New Phablet, Iris Scanner and Other Features Excite Users
The release of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has set the tone of the ongoing smartphone wars after its release early this year- pushing the definition of what a smartphone should be all about. Similarly, the forthcoming flagship upgrade to the Galaxy Note phablet series is bound to continue the constant stream of enhancements from earlier predecessors.
The Note oversized handsets have earned quite a large following of tech buffs, however, last year's Note 5 was anything but disappointment. As reported by Forbes Magazine, the removal of expandable memory slot and less exciting features mostly imported from Galaxy 6 handset had rendered the phablet device as a redundant flagship.
So what's new with Galaxy Note 6?
As reported by Nashville Chatter Class, the upcoming phablet from the Note series will receive IP 68 certification which means the device is reportedly designed with dust-and-water-resistance package- a practical add-on against extreme weather conditions and emergencies. Since the smartphone flagship devices are already IP 68 certified, such feature will soon become a staple for future Samsung handsets.
In terms of display, the newest Note phablets will be fitted with 5.8-inch AMOLED pressure-sensitive screen with 1, 024 pressure points - a technically superior technology than the ones used in earlier devices. The 20MP camera is rumored to come with super OIS (optical image stabilization) sensor.
As for its internal makeup, the Note also includes a generous 6GB RAM, a longer battery life (4,000mAh), and a reportedly forthcoming Android N OS update.
Lastly, there have been ongoing speculations about the possibility of arming the new phablets with a security feature fueled by news of Samsung's importation of iris scanners from India specifically for its mobile R&D division according to a report by Lawyer Herald.
Other snippets elsewhere in rumor land suggest official product launching either in late August or early September to coincide with the IFA show in Berlin, Germany.
