Meadow Walker: Dad Would Have Made $80 M If His Life Had Not Been Cut Short
Paul Walker could have earned $80 million if his life had not been cut short, said his 17-year-old daughter, Meadow. His bank account could have expanded to anywhere between $30 and $80 million, she said.
Universal executives had given their commitment to three more 'Fast and Furious' movies,
even as Walker and company were filming the seventh instalment, explained the legal docs
filed by Meadow.
Finally, she did settle for $10.1 million. The docs disclose that the court gave permission to Meadow and her mother to use $2 million from the settlement so that they could buy a new house.
After he was killed in a car accident, Paul Walker's daughter Meadow has been awarded a $10.1 million dollar settlement deal. It has been agreed to by Roger Rodas, who drove the car that embroiled him in an accident in November 2013.
The 17-year-old daughter got the award after a settlement with Rodas' estate, said her lawyer Jeffrey Milam Thursday.
"The amount paid by the estate of Roger Rodas into a trust for Meadow Walker only covers a fraction of what her father would have earned as an international movie star had his life not tragically been cut short," Milam said. "Through his estate, Mr. Rodas, the driver of the car, took partial responsibility for the crash. Meadow's lawsuit against Porsche AG - a $13 billion corporation - intends to hold the company responsibly for producing a vehicle that was defective and caused Paul Walker's death."
They had been travelling in a Porsche Carrera GT when the crash happened a couple of years ago. Paul Walker was seated in the passenger seat, and both were declared dead.
Milam said that Rodas was "not directing the car through any particularly unsafe maneuvers when it went out of control," yet he was partly to blame for the death.
Although the settlement had been made official in 2014, it was filed under her name of Meadow W., and was therefore hidden from the public. Even though she got a little more than $7.2 million, her lawyer was awarded a little under $3 million. She has plans to go on with her lawsuit against Porsche, although the one filed by Rodas' widow Kristine got dismissed by the judge, with the judgement that Porsche was not to blame.
Meadow has been declaring her sorrow and love for her father publicly. On the day she would have celebrated his 42nd birthday, she said that she had launched the Paul Walker Foundation. "Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill," she wrote at the time. "I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching the #PaulWalkerFoundation on his birthday. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father."
