Hwang Chi-yeol News: Korean Star Income Increased 100 Times After Debuting in China

'I am Singer' Season 4 Korean star Hwang Chi-yeol revealed how his pay has increased 100 times after debuting in China.

Hwang shared in KBS2 'Happy Together 3' show that "my pay for each show increased 100 times since I went to China and I go to airport so many people recognize me".

Hwang's 'I am Singer' manager Jang Wi-an said in order to show up to 'Happy Together 3' he cancelled his Chinese schedule show which would pay him $300k shocking the show host Yoo Jae-suk.

I Am a Singer is a Chinese version of the Korean reality show I Am a Singer and it is broadcast on Hunan Television. Seven talented, veteran Chinese singers perform for a selected audience, which votes to eliminate one singer after each week's performance.

Hwang made his official début in 2007, releasing two albums in the same year with a digital single album, titled Chi Yeul, and an album, titled Five senses.

In March 2015, he was in I Can See Your Voice on Mnet Korea after a writer of the show requested him to participate in it. His success after the episode aired became the important turning point in his life.
