Homeland Season 6 Rumors and News: To be premiered this October

Homeland, an American political thriller developed by Howard Gordan and Alex Gansa is in its sixth season.

There are no specific plot details for the sixth season of "Homeland" as it is still being kept under wraps, it is possible that the upcoming season will provide a glimpse of Carrie Matheson before she was recruited to the CIA.

The Los Angeles Times reported Gansa's statement: "Clearly she came to the attention of Saul Berenson probably through a professor at some university who picked her out as somebody who was incredibly perceptive and acute about human behavior, somebody who had a razor-sharp mind and somebody who could thrive in the duplicitous role of intelligence work overseas,"

The Ecumenical Times reported the Carrie's journey over the past five seasons, viewers have seen how much she has changed. In fact, in the recently concluded fifth season, Carrie even left the CIA to live out a civilian life. Dramatizing Carrie's beginnings as a CIA agent could serve to provide a stark contrast to her disillusioned state in season 5.

The upcoming season will see "Homeland" feature a domestic storyline - focusing on New York City and its surrounding areas. However, specific story details have not yet been revealed.

"I hope it goes somewhere that makes a profound statement about something broken in this world that in our fictional viewpoint, we might have a suggestion on how to set it right," said Patinkin.

As Patinkin wants to keep the story-line on the actual events happening today. Fans wonder whether the upcoming season would focus on the current presidential elections or 9/11 attack.

"Homeland" season 6 will be premiered on Showtime this October.
