Prison Break Season 5, News Update: Shooting Begins, New Characters Make Entry
The smashing hit TV series on Fox, "Prison Break" has begun shooting for its fifth season with some new members joining the cast.
According to reports, the show, which is set in Vancouver, will make a comeback around September on Fox network this year with many interesting and shocking revelations. Rumors suggest that lead character Michael Scofield (played by Wentworth Miller) will be shown as suffering from amnesia in a bid to justify his long disappearance from the show.
The rumor finds backing from the story of the fourth season, which did not see any efforts on the part of his wife Sarah, brother Lincoln and son Michael Jr. to find about his whereabouts. It is also related with the fact that the makers have given a casting call for an actor to play Michael Jr. This character is said to possess a perception older for his age.
Notably, the season finale had shown the death of Michael but Fox CEO Dana Walden has revealed that the upcoming season will provide a believable explanation. After all, the other characters are not roaming the cities of the world without reason.
Some new actors will also make an entry to the show to play fresh characters. The names include Mark Feuerstein, Marina Benedict, Augustus Prew, Amin El Gamal, Rick Yune, Kunal Sharma, Steve Mouzakis and Inbar Lavi, with Prew and Yune landing major roles. Amaury Nolasco, Rockmond Dunbar, Sarah Wayne Callies, Robert Knepper and Paul Adelstein will be repeated in their previous roles
It is worth mentioning here that Prison Break had a successful run in all the four seasons starting from 2005 to 2009. After a gap of six years, in June 2015, it was reported that Fox is thinking of a reboot. Two months later, the production company confirmed the series revival. In January 2016, an official announcement was made for the fifth season with nine episodes.
