‘Battlefield 5' Release Date and Rumors: To Be Released In June? Game 'Threat' To Call of Duty

"Battlefield 5" is set to be released this year, yet a confirmed date hasn't been announced from the gaming company. However, many rumors are going around that the release date will be very soon this year.

The title of the game hasn't been released yet. What fans do know is that the setting of "Battlefield 5" will stay away from the usual contemporary setting and "go back in time" with a World War I theme, reports Ecumenical News.

Recently Ryan Evans (DICE Senior Video and Media Director) tweeted a post that had all fans wondering that a trailer of "Battlefield 5" was going to be released sooner than we thought.

"A BIG trailer is dropping this week......people don't even know what's coming ;) 'hypehypehype'," tweeted Evans.

Gamers though this tweet meant that he was talking about "Battlefield 5," yet were disappointed to hear that it was just about the "Mirror's Edge: Catalyst," Crossmap reports.

"Battlefield 5" is said to be the most anticipated shooting game of this year, becoming a threat to the all popular "Call of Duty," game analyst, Michael Pachter, told Gaming Bolt in an interview.

"Of course it will be [a threat]," Pachter said. "I just think that there's less overall competition. Battlefield 5 itself will be great- it's just that last year there were five games that took 60 million units of sales- Halo, Fallout, Battlefront, Assassin's Creed, and Call of Duty. This year, on the other hand, there are only four games, and one of them, Mafia 3, isn't as big as the smallest of those others. So if Mafia offsets Assassin's Creed, and Battlefield does Battlefront... then Watch Dogs is competing for Fallout's share, and what happens to Halo's share? It needs to go somewhere, so it should be good for everybody."

Currently, news sites are claiming different possible release dates. Some sites, like Ecumenical News, are reporting that the launch date will in June at the EA Play. However, other reporters are saying the actual release date won't be until October.

Which one is more accurate? It is hard to tell, but the game doesn't even have a title yet, so gamers are thinking that the title will mostly be revealed first at EA Play, Christian Today reports.
