Duggar Family News Update: Reality TV Family Accused Of Scripting Episodes And Hiring Actors For Spinoff
Despite the withdrawal from advertisers last week, the Jill and Jessa: Counting On spinoff moved on with their new episode this week. The show would have sailed smoothly if not with an Arkansas native who spilled on social media that he was paid as one of the actors in the show and the overall thing is scripted and staged.
"A friend of mine works on the crew and invited me to play the role of 'guy who wants to buy car,'" a man named Eric commented on a photo of a scene aired on its March 29 episode.
Eric is making a cameo as a stranger who is interested to be a customer and buy one the flipped or renovated cars in Jinger and her brother's shop.
Season 2 Episode 4 this week focused on how the Duggars threw a surprise baby shower for a close family friend, Kristen Young. How the family had quickly organized the event has been questioned by a source who remembered Eric's confession in social media.
This is not the first time the Duggars are accused of scripting their episodes as last year one the Duggar brothers is caught taking back the boxes supposedly given to charity and putting them back inside their vehicle.
Like in any reality TV series, the authenticity of the scenes have been questioned since then like how the public would often hit at The Kardashians for its alleged fakery.
Meanwhile, in his week's April 5 episode, it was learned that the Duggar brothers were very picky on who their female siblings go out with.
While Joy and Sierra were busy making cookies for Kristen Young' baby shower, Joy's brothers Josiah and David were talking about Joy's love life and how they would intently block any guy their sister dates with.
"He'd almost have to be the perfect guy, and he would go through a lot of testing," Joseph said.
"I think if guys come around, they're going to have to get through a few guys. I say, if a guy shows up to court Joy, there will definitely be a lot of us standing back a little bit, kind of checking him out," Josiah chimed in.
