Drew Barrymore And Will Kopelman Divorce Rumors: Drew Is Back To Work After Announcing Split With Husband
Drew Barrymore first broke the news that she was breaking up with her husband, Will Kopelman, and then a day later, got back to work at the Pebble Beach Food & Wine event, in support of her Barrymore Wines.
She planned to debut a new rosé there. "Drew is amazing. She has been a friend of the festival for years. In fact, when she launched her wine she did it at Pebble Beach," event founder David Bernahl said.
So she was featured in a video that promoted a tasting room in nearby Carmel, California, which was promoting the new rosé. In the video, she held a bottle of wine.
They have decided to split after three years and two daughters---Olive, 3, and Frankie, who will turn 2 later this month.
It had been rumoured that the actress and art consultant had faced problems. "They are living separately. Over the past few months, things seem to be up and down with the couple," the insider said. "He has not been involved in her company Flower. They seemed also to not be very close or connected as a couple. Drew never spoke bad about her husband, they just seemed very disconnected."
But the rocky marriage had never been featured publicly. They featured in Barrymore's Instagram last June for their anniversary, showing the duo with a glass of wine at Petit Trois in Los Angeles. She had captioned it: "Happy anniversary Mr. Kopelman, cheers to you! I love you and I love our daughters !!!!!!! #threeyears"
She had expressed her ecstasy last December 2014: "I'm very happy," Drew beamed. "Marriage is great and the kids are the best. I know that everyone says you're supposed to treat your spouse as equal as your kids, but I struggle every day of who I love the most. I love them all!"
They had got married in 2012, in a secret ceremony in her $6 million Montecito, Calif., estate.
They have decided to file for divorce shortly: "They've been having some difficulties, but they remain close for the sake of their kids," say sources. "Drew had a very rebellious and wild childhood, with no family around her, and while she is a very different person now, and a great mother, some of that can stay with you."
The couple released the following statement about their divorce: "Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family. Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually, you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on. Our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority."
