One Punch Man is certainly a huge sensation among anime fans even with just one season. Although relatively new, the anime has proven its mettle of creating a huge following.  After news of an upcoming season of the anime hit series, rumors have been swirling about the second season's story line.

As reported by International Business Times, the story will proceed in an unexpected twist with the fans' beloved hero, Saitama, going rogue despite the emergence of new antagonists in the manga version.

Another possible scenario in the next season would be a destructive civil war involving the world's most powerful heroes. As expected, Saitama will join the fray and may even face his trusted follower, Genos, on the opposing side in the war.

As reported by Christian Times, a group of extraordinary humans known as Hero Hunters is set to rattle the dominance of the established Heroes' Association after the former started recruiting from the latter especially those with potential S-class powers. Genos reportedly criticized the corruption within the Heroes' Association triggering a clash among heroes.

However, a report by The BitBag offered a different narrative suggesting that the upcoming season would be more like a spin-off that detailed the origins of Saitama tracing the time when he still had hair. With this synopsis, season 2 is more likely to entitled 'The Beginning'.

Since the first season did not cover much about the protagonist's origins, some observers argue that it's only logical that viewers should be allowed to understand why and how Saitama ended up as a superhero.

With competing scenarios being debated and discussed among fans, details on the second season are bound to remain hazy until viewers receive confirmed reports from the creators of the anime themselves. For now, these roundups should be treated with a grain of salt.
