Miami Open Finals Results: Victoria Azarenka vs Svetlana Kuznetsova, Who will Win?

Victoria Azarenka will be facing Svetlana Kuznetsova in the Miami Open Finals

Victoria Azarenka is only a step far away from becoming the third women to win both Indian Wells and Key Biscayne in the same year.

Azarenka comfortable advanced to the finals of the tournament by defeating the No. 2-seeded Angelique Kerber in a straight set encounter. She won by 6-2, 7-5 against Kerber in the semi-final match.

Azarenka played confidently throughout the match, she broke Kerber's serve seven times and hit 23 winners while only committing 16 unforced errors in the match. After the match Azarenka said "I stayed very strong in the end," she also added by saying "She's such an amazing player. She got to so many balls; sometimes I just had to watch them. But I'm glad I kept pushing." Azarenka will be facing Svetlana Kuznetsova in the Miami Open Final on Saturday.

Later in the other semi-final match Svetlana Kuznetsova, who had sent home packing the Eight-time champion Williams in the fourth round continued her splendid form. Kuznetsova advanced to the final by defeating Timea Bacsinszky in the semi-finals. She won the match by 7-5, 6-3, by erasing 12 of the 14 break points that she faced during the game. Later she commented that "It means I've been a lot of times out here in front of you guys," she told the crowd with a laugh.

Meanwhile the men's singles saw a close encounter match between No. 6-seeded Kei Nishikori and No. 16 seeded Gael Monfils. But the final smile went to Nishikori as he beat Monfils 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3). It was a tough match for him as he had to overcome five match points against Monfils. He will be facing the No.12 Nick Kyrgios in the semi-finals.

Nishikori said "I thought I almost gave up the match," but added by saying "It was tough conditions. Especially the last couple of games, I don't know what I was thinking." Meanwhile Novak Djokovic will be facing David Goffin the other semi-final match of the tournament.
