Call of Duty' 2016 Release Date And Rumors Roundup: New COD Might be Set in Space
A new report is making some "outlandish" claims about Call of Duty's next installment, quite literally. If the rumors are to be believed, the game developers might abandon their primary war setting and take the party into space.
The details of the game come from unconfirmed sources, albeit a well known-member of NeoGAF forums. The source has been credited with such valid leaks in the past, and told GAF members that that Call of Duty will most likely be "Very far future. Space combat. Full on sci-fi."
Soon after revealing this piece of information, within 24-hours, Eurogamer confirmed the news based on its own inside sources. However, at this point, it is important to note that no official information has been announced by Activision yet. Hence, the fans must take this information with a pinch of salt.
That said, with the new reports, another big rumor can be put to rest, that Infinity Ward is planning to launch next Call of Duty with a Ghost sequel. However, while there is still not much known about the sci-fi CoD, it is almost certain that next Call of Duty will not be a Ghost sequel. Apart from the news that the next game will likely debut in November, there is not much known for sure about Call of Duty 2016.
But the good news is that Activision has already confirmed that a Call of Duty will be revealed at E3 this year, which means that a little more wait will allay all the doubts and confirm the news about the series.
