Apple recently came out with their new arguably smaller phone the iPhone SE.

According to Apple, the sales for their new phone are supposed to begin any day now along with the new iPad. Speculated to indicate their iPhone as a "Special Edition" flagship phone since it's an upgrade to the ever-loved Apple iPhone 5S, it was supposed to be a budget friendly phone.

It massively failed to live up-to it's expectations. It will be costing approximately around 39,000INR or 499$ if you are planning to get one from the United States. Comparing to the current flagship the iPhone 6s, it houses a similar specifications such as the dual-core A9 Chip along with the same graphic chip-set that you see in the iPhone 6s.

The only notably visible changes are in design and a smaller-form factor. It also weighs arguably lesser than the current flagship. However, the display resolution has been reduced to 640p which is not really challenging considering it's 2016 right now.

The only new change is that the SE variant however will have night-shift mode which induces a change in the spectrum to the darker colors that'll help users with better sleep and low-light consumption. The phone however comes only in 16GB and 64GB in terms of storage and there is no 128GB variant available yet at least for now.

In the camera section, the SE variant however has only a 1.2MP front-facing camera compared to the 5MP present in the 6S. The SE variant also doesn't come with OIS. There is also no 3D touch and display to zoom technology in the SE variant.

The 4-inch phone has additional EV-DO bands. EV-DO technology is another standard of networking bands especially CDMA provided by American cellular networking providers like Sprint and Verizon etc.

The SE also houses a faster LTE and also support voice over LTE(VoLTE), along with Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. The battery back-up and benchmarks are however yet to be determined. Apple might have introduced the variant due to a smaller form factor and a lesser pricing range than the 6s considering in mind about the budget friendly phone users but however with about only a 15,000INR or about a 250$ decrease, people might still have to give it a thought considering that 6S is still dominating the sales for Apple phones.
