The New York Yankees have reportedly found their new shortstop to replace Derek Jeter, who retired this past season. According to media reports, the Yankees are closing in on a three-team trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Detroit Tigers to acquire Didi Gregorius.

Gregorius, a 24-year-old from the Netherlands, has a MLB career hitting average of .243 with 57 RBI and 13 homeruns. He hit .226 with 27 RBI and 6 homeruns in 80 games with the Diamondbacks in 2014.

Gregorius was signed as an amateur free agent by the Cincinnati Reds in 2007. In 2012, he was involved with a three-team deal between the Diamondbacks, the Reds and the Cleveland Indians.

In the trade, the Yankees will be sending pitcher Shane Greene to the Tigers. Greene, 26, was selected by the Yankees during the 15th round of the 2009 MLB draft. In April 2014, Greene was promoted to the major leagues to replace Vidal Nuño in the starting rotation. He finished the season with a win-loss record of 5-4 and an ERA of 3.78. He recorded 81 strikeouts.

The Tigers will be sending pitcher Robbie Ray to the Diamondbacks. Ray, 23, made his major league debut last season with the Detroit Tigers after Aníbal Sánchez suffered an injury. Ray went 1-4 with an 8.16 ERA.

According to FOX Sports 1 Insider Ken Rosenthal, the trade will be finalized after the medical information on all players involved is exchanged.
